Who we are
ShowRevue is a macOS application and service for theatrical production recording and playback. ShowRevue is developed and operated in Australia. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@showrevue.com.
What we collect
Account and licensing. When you sign up or purchase a licence, we collect your email address and payment details. Payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers.
Usage. The ShowRevue app runs on your Mac. By default, show recordings, cue data, notes, and session files are stored locally and are never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly export, share, or enable a cloud feature (see Live Notes below). Video recordings are never uploaded.
Live Notes (cloud). A show is local-only until you opt in by creating a cloud project. When enabled, the following are uploaded to our backend so your team can view them from a browser: the show name and your account identity (the owner); notes (text, department tag, timecode/cue reference, and the author's name); camera-frame snapshots and any drawn annotations attached to a note; per-recording running times; and your Show Team roster (the email addresses you add or invite). Team members must sign in and be approved to view a show. We use this data only to provide the Live Notes feature. You can stop uploading by disabling the cloud project, and you can request deletion at any time.
Snapshots & security. Camera-frame snapshots can be turned off per show (in the app's project settings) so no images are uploaded — notes then sync as text only, and the on-device LAN Live Notes feature is unaffected. We store uploaded content securely (encrypted in transit, with access limited to the show team you define), but no online storage can be guaranteed completely secure: we cannot promise that uploaded images or other content will never be accessed or leaked through a breach, misconfiguration, or a team member sharing access. If material is sensitive, keep snapshots off or keep the show local. See our Terms & Conditions.
Stage Display. Stage Display streams over your local area network (or off the Mac's own display output). No show footage is routed through ShowRevue servers.
Crash and diagnostics. If you opt in, anonymised crash reports may be sent to help us improve stability. No show content is included.
Anonymous usage statistics. To help us understand which features matter and prioritise development, the app sends anonymous usage statistics by default. These are keyed to a random identifier generated on your Mac — not your name, email, or licence — and contain only feature usage: which integrations you connect (e.g. grandMA3, QLab, NDI), how often you record and a coarse recording-length band, whether you use playback, Stage Display or Live Notes, and your app and macOS version. We never send show names, note text, IP-identifying detail, video, or cue data, and we cannot tie the statistics back to you. You can turn this off any time in Preferences → Diagnostics → “Share anonymous usage statistics”.
How we use your data
- To deliver and activate your licence.
- To send transactional emails (licence confirmation, renewal notices).
- To respond to support requests.
- To improve the application using anonymised crash data (opt-in only).
We do not sell your data. We do not send marketing email without consent.
Third-party services
We use Stripe for payment processing and Auth0 for account authentication. Each service has its own privacy policy. We use Supabase for licence and account data storage, hosted in the United States.
Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@showrevue.com. Licence records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes as required by Australian law.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Australian residents have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). EU/UK residents have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
Cookies
This website uses only functional cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active licence holders.
